How a girl lost her fear of dogs |
There was a girl named Angela. At 12 years old she was intimidated by dogs. It didn’t matter if they were big or small. She became frightened and would start to cry.
One day she went for a walk with her parents and she saw her classmate, Susi, who was walking a large black dog.
Angela felt very uncomfortable and began trembling.
"What shall I do?" she thought. "She is my classmate and I don’t want her to see my fear because she is a blabbermouth, and I don't want the other kids to know about my fear of dogs. I must change my behavior and be brave."
Angela gathered all her courage and said, "Hi, Christine, how’s it going?"
Angela's parents were surprised because their daughter didn’t cry. She even tolerated the dog sniffing her.
Since then Angela hasn’t been afraid of dogs. She has overcome her fear by changing her thoughts.
