The Frog and the Fly |
A fly fell in love with a frog.
Fly: "I love you so very much. I love you so very much that I'd like to eat you" the fly said.
Frog: "Why?" the frog asked.
Fly: "Then I would be always with you, you could do nothing without me and I could also do nothing without you."
Frog: Why?" the frog asked.
Fly: "Because this is real love when you would like to eat your darling preferably", the fly said.
That was the point where the frog began to ponder for he loved the fly, too.
And just for that reason he did not eat her.
Frog: "Is this really true?" he asked.
Fly: "And how! You said it! It's really true." the fly said. "Thereon we recognise the big love. Ask the other lovers sometime."
Frog: "Hem" the frog said. Then he ate up the fly.
We don't know what the fly thought about this. We only know that the frogs have been eating the flies since then.
Translated from the book "dog, cat, mouse... " by Janosch
Let's talk about it:
- Who fell head over heels in love?
- What did the fly say to the frog?
- Why would the fly like to eat the frog?
- What did the fly tell about real love?
- Why didn't the frog want to eat the fly?
- Why did the frog eat the fly finally?
