Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells

"Jingle Bells" (Klingt Glöckchen) is a winter song. It was written for a Thanksgiving program by the American organist James Lord Pierpont. The song was enthusiastically accepted. Subsequently, on Christmas day it was sung one more time and since then it became one of the most popular Christmas carols. On 16 of September 1857 the song was copyrighted under the title "One Horse Open Sleigh" (einspänniger offener Pferdeschlitten). The song has been translated into many languages.
